TEJIDA was born in 2015, when an engineer decided to explore where traditional crafts and creative expression meet.
Her training began with six months of weaving, studying under Mapuche Master Weaver Eugenia Calquin — an experience that gave far more than technique: respect for the culture that holds the craft, the importance of the selvedges, and the practice of being present while weaving.
Between 2018 and 2021, in Seattle, she continued her training at the Seattle Weavers' Guild, learning to weave with four to eight shafts. It was also there that the stash of natural fibres that feeds each piece today began to grow.
Back in Chile in 2021, TEJIDA settled into the craft of spinning, natural dyeing, and weaving. 2025 brought significant recognition: the Seal of Excellence for the Pusi Chakani bed runner, and selection to represent Chile alongside four other artisans at BANAN, the Saudi International Handicrafts Week, held in Riyadh.

Working from stash is a way of understanding the craft:
with awareness, with restraint,
honouring time and materials.
